5 Day Devotional

Day 1: Something the World Can't Explain

Devotional

What if the most powerful thing you could do for your community had nothing to do with a program, a platform, or a perfectly planned event? What if it started with simply showing up for the people around you? The early church in Acts wasn't impressive by the world's standards. No big building. No polished production. Just people who were genuinely devoted to one another. They shared meals, opened their homes, prayed together, and leaned into real community. And because of that, God moved. Every single day, people were being added to their number. That's not a coincidence. That's a pattern. When believers choose to live in authentic unity, something becomes visible that the world struggles to explain. People notice. They lean in. They start asking questions. And that curiosity opens doors that no marketing strategy ever could. You don't have to wait for a revival to come to your city. You can start right where you are, with one honest conversation, one shared meal, one moment of choosing someone else over your own comfort. God is not looking for perfect people. He is looking for willing ones.

Bible Verse

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." - Acts 2:42 (New International Version (NIV))

Reflection Question

Is there someone in your life right now who needs you to simply show up for them, and what has been stopping you?

Quote

"Revival does not begin with a program. It begins with one humble, obedient step toward God and toward one another."

Prayer

Lord, make us a people whose lives point others toward You. Help us to choose community over comfort and to trust that You move powerfully when we do. Amen.

Day 2: All In, Not Just Leaders

Devotional

It's easy to assume that revival is someone else's job. That it belongs to the pastor, the worship team, or the people who seem to have it all together spiritually. But that's not what God says. 2 Chronicles 7:14 is one of the most well-known verses about revival, and it is addressed to all of God's people. Not just the leaders. Not just the ones on stage. All of us. God is calling every believer to humble themselves, to pray, to seek His face, and to turn from anything that pulls them away from Him. That's a personal invitation, and it's waiting for your response. Think about what happened at Azusa Street in 1906. It didn't start with a celebrity pastor or a massive budget. It started with a small group of ordinary people who took God's conditions seriously. What grew from that small room eventually touched 70 million people across 150 countries. God doesn't need you to be extraordinary. He needs you to be obedient. Humility is not weakness. It is the very thing that opens the door for God to move in and through your life. You are part of this. Not a spectator. A participant.

Bible Verse

"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14 (New International Version (NIV))

Reflection Question

In what area of your life is God asking you to humble yourself right now, and have you been treating that as optional?

Quote

"He's not expecting King Solomon alone to humble ourselves. He's not expecting pastors to just be the only ones. He's expecting and patiently waiting for all of us, all of us to humble ourselves in unity, to pray for unity, to seek God's face in unity, and to turn from our wicked ways in unity."

Prayer

Father, remind us that revival starts with us, not someone else. Give us the courage to humble ourselves before You and before one another. Amen.

Day 3: The Hard Road Worth Taking

Devotional

Conflict is uncomfortable. Most of us would rather avoid it, post about it, or vent to a friend than actually deal with it face to face. But Jesus gave us a better way, and it requires something most of us don't naturally reach for: humility. In Matthew 18, Jesus is clear. When someone wrongs you, go to them privately first. Not to win. Not to prove a point. To restore the relationship. That's the goal. Restoration, not victory. We live in a world where calling someone out publicly feels normal, even justified. But that approach rarely heals anything. It usually just adds more damage to an already broken situation. Private, humble confrontation is harder. It costs you something. It means sitting across from someone, looking them in the eye, and choosing the relationship over your pride. But that is exactly the kind of community that makes people stop and take notice. When people see believers handle conflict with grace and honesty, trust is built. And trust is the foundation that unity is built on. You don't have to be perfect at this. You just have to be willing to try. One honest, humble conversation can change everything.

Bible Verse

"If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over." - Matthew 18:15 (New International Version (NIV))

Reflection Question

Is there a relationship in your life where you have been avoiding a private, honest conversation, and what would it look like to take that step this week?

Quote

"Calling somebody out on Facebook or Instagram or in a group text or across a crowded hallway or a room, it's like yanking across three lanes of traffic on the interstate without your blinker on and calling it merging."

Prayer

Jesus, give us the courage to handle conflict the way You taught us. Help us to choose restoration over being right, and humility over pride. Amen.

Day 4: Unity That the World Can See

Devotional

There is something powerful about a group of people who genuinely love each other across every difference. It's rare. And when people see it, they can't look away. In 1906, Reverend William Seymour believed that people of different races worshiping together was not just a nice idea. He believed it was evidence that the Holy Spirit was actually present. At a time when society was deeply divided, the unity at Azusa Street was itself a sign that something supernatural was happening. People couldn't explain it. They couldn't dismiss it. And it spread across the world. Unity is not just a feel-good concept. It is a visible sign that God is at work. When believers choose to live in genuine community, sharing life, bearing one another's burdens, and sticking together through hard seasons, the world takes notice. This kind of unity doesn't happen by accident. It is built through intentional choices every single day. Choosing to show up. Choosing to stay. Choosing to love someone even when it's inconvenient. You are part of a community that has the potential to show the world something it desperately needs to see. Don't underestimate what God can do through a group of people who are truly unified.

Bible Verse

"All the believers were together and had everything in common." - Acts 2:44 (New International Version (NIV))

Reflection Question

What is one practical way you could invest more deeply in your community this week that would make your unity with other believers more visible to those around you?

Quote

"Reverend Seymour believed that blacks and whites worshiping together was a sure sign of God's blessing and the Spirit of healing process presence."

Prayer

God, let our unity be a sign of Your presence. Help us to build the kind of community that makes the world stop and ask what is different about us. Amen.

Day 5: Start Again, Start Today

Devotional

Maybe you've read through this week and felt a quiet nudge. A reminder of a relationship you've let drift. A conviction about pride you've been holding onto. A sense that you've been watching revival from a distance instead of stepping into it. Here's the good news: today is a new starting point. Revival doesn't require you to have it all figured out. It doesn't require a perfect track record. It requires a willing heart and one obedient step. Maybe that step is reaching out to someone you've been avoiding. Maybe it's finally having that honest conversation. Maybe it's simply deciding that from this day forward, you are going to show up differently for the people around you. Before any of that, though, there is one question worth sitting with. Are you unified with God? Do you believe that Jesus has saved you, forgiven you, and made you new? That is where everything starts. Unity with one another flows out of unity with Him. If you've fallen off, that's okay. Get back up. Start again. The door is open, and God is patiently waiting. Let revival start here. Let it start with you.

Bible Verse

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17 (New International Version (NIV))

Reflection Question

What is the one step, however small, that God is asking you to take today toward unity with Him or with someone in your life?

Quote

"Today, forward, I will walk in unity with God. Today, forward, I will do what God has asked me to do. And I will act with my brothers and sisters in a way that glorifies them and points them towards our Father in Heaven."

Prayer

Lord, we don't want to just read about revival. We want to live it. Start something in us today, and let it grow into something that changes everything around us. Amen.
